promises are meant to be broken?

I vowed to myself that I would never offer Sapphire any table scraps, or feed her off the dining table...

Look what I'm doing now.

Licking off some yummy homemade spaghetti sauce, I'm not a bad Mom, am I?

Also, I'm planning to change her diet soon- raw. I've been reading about it online (for almost 2 years now!) but surely nothing beats to hear your experience, suggestions, and comments!

Thanks in advance. Already, this blogging thing has made me learn so much from all of you!

Our mom said no table scraps too.
We sure did re-train her! haha
We belong to a Yahoo group called ADT Nutrition and there is tons of info there on feeding RAW.
We bet you're going to like your new diet, Sapphire!

Love ya lots

My mom made the same vow too! How I wish she could change her mind as soon as possible.
Sorry that I can't help you with the RAW diets as kibbles is what I have since puppyhood until now.

You're not a bad mom for letting Sapphire lick your plate clean. We get to do that all the time! Infact, we get to eat rubbish almost everyday. HEE HEE

I don't know a lot about raw diets but every once in a while we get red raw meat as a supplement & treat. We only do well on red raw meat. We do terribly on white meat especially chicken. But many dogs that are on raw diets do fine on it. Anyway, good luck with her new diet!

Mom is pretty good about not giving us table scraps - but we can't say the same for Dad - BOL - he spoils us.

We hear great things about feeding raw - good luck.

Way to train your biped, Sapphire!!! Ha wooooo! (Could you please come over here and use those big, beautiful Beagle eyes on our mom? She's way too strict about stuff!)

Ha! HA! That sounds like my human! She's usually very strict about "table manners" too but every so often, she caves in! :-)

There is only one exception to the no-table-scrap rule in our house. We are allowed to lick and clean our humans' cereal bowls after their breakfast, which we really enjoy and look forward to every morning!

I was on raw diet when I was younger, but my humans changed it to kibbles because they are much easier. Currently we have Orijen which contains no grain unlike most kibbles from major dog food companies.

I was reading a lot about raw and other home prepared diets, but I didn't decided for it. The main reasons are, that Luna wants her food now or if I say it more properly - now is already too late. And regarding her eating hours, kibbles are far more human friendly. Then she has problems with her ears and sensitive stomach and so on and so forth. We are currently switching her veterinary diet to Taste of the wild - salmon and so far it's quite good. I only give her now and then a bite or two of raw meat (mostly chicken) if I am sure that it's ok. But if you have time and will and if Sapphire is a little bit better behaved than Luna - just go for it! :o) And share some recipes :o)
